PUTRIDARIUM
Morbification ’22 (2022)

Following the horror movie-styled introduction, one of the heaviest demo releases of all time comes oozing from the cracks like murderous gloop.

This German bunch of slurry eaters drained my blood and excrement with last year’s Putrefaction ’21 demo and now we have three more tracks to finish us off.

‘The Organs Crawler’ is a mesmerising yet crushing example of devastatingly morbid death / doom metal. It’s harrowingly simplistic, churning like a fetid pit of crusty gore, stirred by bones to create a thickened, sludgy soup of rotten phlegm.

‘Necrotic Rapture’ sticks to the sickly formula; a deep, gnawing bludgeoning slo-mo nastiness that heaves towards an Autopsy-style of grimness complete with maniacal howls and gnarly percussion.

Finally, ‘Sentenced To Mold’ is a putrefying cauldron of dank, boiling pus-filled liquid; a slow reeking pit of gloominess, echoing with filthy squalls of horror. Again there’s that distinctive, clanking percussion acting as the death bell to the contaminated moss steaming from the cesspool, while in the murkiness the rhythmic pistons clatter, struggling to overcome the humidity.

The whole pungent, decaying sound drips with ominous intent and ghoulish pride, like a leering killer drooling over his slurry of human gravy. It’s deathly, it’s doomy, it’s the sound of Putridarium regurgitating it’s own innards into a vat of bubbling organic matter.
