RITUAL
Metal Abyss (1985)

Ritual are a speed metal trio from Lewisville in Texas whose members – David Kurrasch (vocals / guitar), Kyle Lewallen (bass) and Andy Terhaar (drums) – are all aged 14, making them by far the youngest band ever to be featured in Metal Forces. Still, despite their age, Ritual are certainly no joke and musically are as good if not better than a majority of bands who write to ‘Demolition’.

The material on the band’s poorly recorded Metal Abyss demo, their second, is fairly predictable and I’m being kind when I say that the vocals are crap, but the potential is there and Ritual certainly have the time to improve their qualities.

My advice to the band would be to continue writing material, rehearsing, gigging and save some money for a decent quality demo. It’s no good them producing bad quality demos every time they’ve written half a dozen new songs. If they can be patient, then their time will surely come.
