February 28th, 2020

Brooklyn, New York-based metal group Tombs issued six-track EP Monarchy Of Shadows on February 28th, 2020 through Season Of Mist.

The EP can be streamed in its entirety via YouTube below.

Monarchy Of Shadows was recorded at Frightbox Recording in Passaic, New Jersey. Acting as producer, sound engineer and mixer was Bobby Torres, while Alan Douches at West West Side Music in New York mastered.

Monarchy Of Shadows marks the debuts of guitarist Matt Medeiros, bassist Drew Murphy and drummer Justin Spaeth, three-quarters of New Jersey-based death metal band Kalopsia. “If it were up to me I’d have unlimited numbers of people in the band; strings, keyboards, three guitar players and so on, but that can’t happen,” commented frontman Mike Hill. “However, for the first time in the history of Tombs there has been a collaboration between band members. It’s not just me writing everything. It’s a big difference from The Grand Annihilation which was basically a solo record.”

Cover artwork duties fell to Valnoir.
