THY ART IS MURDER Issue Drum Playthrough Video For ‘Eye For An Eye’ Track
July 1st, 2020

Sydney, Australia-based deathcore group Thy Art Is Murder have released a drum playthrough video for the track ‘Eye For An Eye’. Featuring drummer Jesse Beahler, the clip can be viewed below.

The drums heard in the video are a live, non-sample augmented performance with the exception of a trigger blended with the kick mic. There was no editing on this performance.

Jesse Beahler commented: “‘Eye For An Eye’ was the first song I heard from Human Target as it was the first one to be drafted in the writing process. I really liked the vibe of the track, it’s pretty moody with a good Thy Art kind of feel and was the most challenging song for me to record. Overall it’s a good example of how we’re trying to push ourselves instrumentally, while keeping the song writing at the forefront.

“The hardest part to track was definitely the build up to the last breakdown as the pattern is tricky to get the feel right. You can actually hear the floor tom distort because I was so pissed off during the tracking of that part. It’s also got the fastest double bass on the record, with 4 bar segments of 270bpm 16th notes in the verses.”

Thy Art Is Murder issued fifth full-length studio album Human Target on July 26th, 2019 in Australia and New Zealand through Human Warfare. Nuclear Blast will handle release throughout the rest of the world.

The outing is the band’s first album with drummer Jesse Beahler. Beahler replaced Lee Stanton, whose departure was confirmed on April 1st, 2018.
