IN FLAMES Re-Sign With Nuclear Blast Records
June 18th, 2016

Gothenburg, Sweden-based melodic death metal group In Flames have signed an album contract with Nuclear Blast for all territories excluding North America and Scandinavia, revealing this development on June 16th, 2016.

Vocalist Anders Fridén issued the following statement: “In a way, In Flames and Nuclear Blast share a similar story. Both started in a garage in Europe, both love metal and both have grown a lot bigger over the years. For these reasons, it seemed a natural fit to come back to the place it all started.”

Nuclear Blast CEO Markus Staiger shared the following words, meanwhile: “We’re enormously happy that In Flames decided to return and trust in us for the second time — Nuclear Blast is their home again from now on. I remember well how their debut album, Lunar Strain, inspired me back in the days. I was totally fascinated by their great and absolutely unique blend of death metal with delicate melodies. One year later, In Flames signed with us and released eight splendid records over the years, including groundbreaking classics such as Whoracle (1997), Clayman (2000) and Reroute To Remain (2002). In Flames developed all the time, reinvented themselves again and again and enthused fans of various genres with their always innovative sound. We’re looking forward to the common future with Anders, Björn, Peter and Niclas.”

Albums two through nine were previously issued through the label, namely The Jester Race (1996), Whoracle (1997), Colony (1999), Clayman (2000), Reroute To Remain (2002), Soundtrack To Your Escape (2004), Come Clarity (2006), and A Sense Of Purpose (2008).

In Flames’ line-up is as follows;

Anders Fridén (vocals)
Björn Gelotte (guitars)
Niclas Engelin (guitars)
Peter Iwers (bass)

The departure of drummer Daniel Svensson was confirmed on November 8th, 2015.

11th studio record Siren Charms was released in September 2014.
