DANKO JONES Share Music Video For New Single ‘Get High?’ Feat. FUCKED UP’s Damian Abraham

Toronto, Ontario, Canada-based hard rock group Danko Jones have filmed a new music video for the track ‘Get High?’. Featuring guest vocals from Fucked Up frontman Damian Abraham, the clip can be viewed below.
Speaking about the song, frontman and namesake Danko Jones said: “With the legalization of marijuana, it was inevitable a song like ‘Get High?’ would be birthed. I just didn’t know it would be our band that penned the anthem for potheads everywhere. Damian Abraham of Fucked Up! even joins us to answer my question – Do you wanna get high? His answer is ‘yes’.”
Danko Jones issue 11th full-length studio album Electric Sounds on September 15th, 2023 through AFM Records (excluding Canada). Canadian release will be handled by Sonic Unyon.
“Not working for two years really felt like touring rock bands were being put out to pasture,” commented frontman and namesake Danko Jones. “But I guess that only made us try harder. We were still able to record and release an album during the pandemic (Power Trio, 2021). We toured as soon as we were allowed. Now that Electric Sounds is getting released, it doesn’t feel like we missed a beat. During the pandemic, we moved away from each other. JC lives in Finland and Rich lives in Prince Edward Island. So the writing for this band has changed. We used to bash out ideas in our rehearsal place, day after day, but it’s more about sending files back and forth now. However, last summer, while on tour, we did manage to jam out ideas in a rehearsal room in Berlin for a few days. Out of those jams came the nubs for five songs…”
Electric Sounds was produced by Eric Ratz, and features guest spots from Tyler Stewart (Barenaked Ladies), Damian Abraham (Fucked Up) and guitarist Daniel Dekay (Exciter).
“I’d like to think Electric Sounds falls in line with all our previous albums,” said Danko Jones. “Over the years, we’ve carved out a sound and we’re sticking to it. But if you were to zoom in and compare it to other albums, I’d like to think it’s a bit faster than our other albums. Initially, I wanted all the songs to sound like our song, ‘Cadillac’ – plodding, mid-tempo, heavy, and to the point.
“Our songs are usually about rocking, wanting to rock, enjoying life while rocking, and sometimes I’ll sing about a woman. You can expect zero surprises!”

Directed by Philip Hovensjö (Horseboy), a music video was filmed for the track ‘Good Time’, while a live performance music video was also released for the song. In addition, official lyric videos were created for the tracks ‘Guess Who’s Back’ and ‘Good Time’. All four clips can also be viewed below.
Tenth studio record Power Trip was released in August 2021 in Europe through Mate In Germany / About Us Records, with Sonic Unyon handling North American issue.
