SPECTROPHILIA
Putrid Paths Of Depravation EP
Self-released (2023)

With bullet belts criss-crossing his leather-clad body, the delightfully named Blasphemous Cannibal lurches forth from the pits of Loja in Ecuador with his second EP.
Putrid Paths Of Depravation features four tracks sandwiched between an intro, ‘Desolation Of Rot’, and the brief closer ‘Impicious Condemnation’. The title track, ‘Purulent Flesh’, ‘Into The Pit Of Corpses’ and ‘Necrous Orgy’ are all delivered in filthy and cavernous fashion very much filtered through impure old school dynamics. It’s all rather no frills in design but its bestial behaviour is no doubt noteworthy, especially when channelled through the meaty riffs.
While not as murky as a lot of today’s death metal acts, Spectrophilia still provide enough underground and primitive juice to keep the ears clogged. So, if you like grim, satanically groomed death metal then step into the abyss of this archaic spew. Thanks Mr. Cannibal!.
