WEDNESDAY 13 Releases Eighth Solo Studio Album ‘Necrophaze’
September 27th, 2019

Los Angeles, California-based horror punk musician Wednesday 13 issued eighth full-length solo studio album Necrophaze on September 27th, 2019 through Nuclear Blast Records.

Necrophaze was recorded by DevilDriver guitarist Michael Spreitzer, and is the first Wednesday 13 record to feature guest appearances, which include performances by Alice Cooper, Roy Mayorga of Stone Sour, Alexi Laiho of Children Of Bodom, and Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil. Also making a guest spot on the album is Jeff Clayton, member of punk bands Antiseen and GG Allin’s Murder Junkies.

Wednesday 13 commented: “To say we are excited about this release would be an understatement. This is the next chapter, the next experience, the next phase into our world… Enter the Necrophaze. This is the most elaborate, horror-themed album I’ve ever released under the name Wednesday 13. Channeling the atmosphere of early 80s horror films, TV shows, cartoons and movie soundtracks, the Necrophaze was complete. To add a little more blood to the party, we had the complete honour of having the Godfather of shock rock, the legendary Alice Cooper. Alice is a guest doing the introduction to the album and the title track ‘Necrophaze’. We wanted to give the listener the ultimate listening experience as if our band was the soundtrack to a horror film.

“The artwork for the CD and vinyl is a visual guide to the songs, and the live show will be the living breathing horror movie version. There will be a Wednesday 13 action figure, music videos, movie soundtrack trailers, commercials and more all on the way with the release of Necrophaze. The artwork and packaging is a tribute to the classic art and packaging from my favourite time of the 1980s. So welcome to party… but bring your own blood.”

Closing the album is a cover interpretation of the track ‘Animal (Fuck Like A Beast)’. Written by frontman Blackie Lawless, ‘Animal (Fuck Like A Beast)’ was originally recorded by W.A.S.P. and saw the light of day in single format in April 1984 in Europe through Music For Nations. Also recorded during sessions for Necrophaze was a cover of the Gary Numan song ‘Films’, originally included on September 1979 debut The Pleasure Principle. The latter cover features guest vocals from Calico Cooper.

Necrophaze was produced and mixed by Michael Spreitzer, while mastering duties fell to Alan Douches at West West Side Music in New Windsor, New York.

Cover artwork was once again created by Travis Smith.

The track listing is as follows;

01. ‘Necrophaze’ (feat. Alice Cooper)
02. ‘Bring Your Own Blood’
