CANDLEMASS Mainman Leif Edling’s THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM Solo Project: Audio Snippet Of ‘Zodiac City’ Available For Listening
March 8th, 2016

Leif Edling, bassist and songwriter for Swedish metal groups Candlemass and Avatarium, launched a solo project entitled The Doomsday Kingdom, revealing this development on February 8th, 2016.

An audio snippet of a track entitled ‘Zodiac City’, featuring guest vocals from Niklas “Viper” Stålvind of Wolf, can be streamed below.

Edling shared the following words about the track: “This next song is another one that I wrote back in 2014 when I was pretty sick, and it’s about the Zodiac (the nickname given to an unidentified serial killer who operated in northern California in the late 1960s and early 1970s).

“In general, I don’t like songs about serial killers, because there’s way too many people glorifying them, but I really like the movie, so here’s ‘Zodiac City’.”

Edling issued the following statement via video message, which can also be viewed below: “As you perhaps know, I won’t be playing live with Candlemass this year. I’m still burnt out. But hopefully I can do it next year. And in the meantime, I would like to introduce some solo stuff I’ve been working on for some time now, and I call it The Doomsday Kingdom. And it’s a low-key thing I’m doing without any label involved. And it’s metal the way it’s supposed to be, and it’s for all of you that love this kind of music as much as I do. And I hope you will enjoy it. Every week, I will put up a new film so I properly can present The Doomsday Kingdom to everybody interested and play a few snippets from it.”
