THE ABSENCE Debut Music Video For New Song ‘Misery Trophies’

Tampa, Florida-based melodic death metal group The Absence issue fourth full-length studio album A Gift For The Obsessed on March 23rd, 2018 through M-Theory Audio.

A Gift For The Obsessed was produced by drummer Jeramie Kling and guitarist Taylor Nordberg at Smoke & Mirror Studios in Tampa, Florida. Mixing was handled by David Castillo at Ghost Ward Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, with mastering by Thomas ‘Plec’ Johansson at The Panic Room.

The outing includes a cover rendition of the Suicidal Tendencies track ‘You Can’t Bring Me Down’ that features guest vocals from Soilwork / The Night Flight Orchestra frontman Bjorn “Speed” Strid.

Cover artwork duties fell to Russian artist Stray Child.

A Gift For The Obsessed will be released in the following formats; CD, digital and limited-edition vinyl (500 copies) with an alternate track sequence on red / black haze coloured vinyl, a heavyweight 24-pt. jacket, a colour lyric sheet and a download card.

Directed and shot by Deidra and Jeramie Kling, with editing by Tommy Jones of VideoHammer, music videos were filmed for the title track and ‘Misery Trophies’. The former was filmed at Baystage Live in Tampa, while the latter was shot at Smoke And Mirrors Productions. Both clips can be viewed below.

Third studio record Enemy Unbound was released in September 2010 via Metal Blade.
