January 5th, 2016

German hard rock guitarist Michael Schenker’s Temple Of Rock band release double A-side single ‘Rock City’ / ‘Good Times’ on January 11th, 2016, the pair of tracks having been taken from studio full-length album Spirit On A Mission.

Michael Schenker’s Temple Of Rock issued studio full-length album Spirit On A Mission on March 23rd, 2015 through in-akustic.

The outing was cut at Kidroom Studios in Münster, Germany, the same studio where 2013 effort Bridge The Gap was recorded. Production was handled by Michael Voss and Schenker, with Voss additionally engineering. Schenker began to author material for the platter following a March 2014 tour of Japan, entering the recording studio in June of that year to lay down song arrangements. Recording concluded in November. During recording sessions, several guitars as well as original recordings were stolen from the studio.

Spirit On A Mission’s title was inspired by Schenker being asked how he wished to be remembered, to which he replied: “As a spirit on a mission, spreading the joy of music from a place of pure self-expression.”

The track listing is as follows;

01. ‘Live And Let Live’
02. ‘Communion’ *
03. ‘Vigilante Man’
04. ‘Rock City’
05. ‘Saviour Machine’ *

All of Spirit On A Mission’s tracks were musically written by Schenker with lyrics being penned by vocalist Doogie White, those highlighted in asterisks being exceptions. Those respective contributions were written by Schenker, White, and guitarist / keyboardist Wayne Findlay.

Music videos were filmed for the tracks ‘Vigilante Man’, ‘Live And Let Live’ and ‘Communion’.

Previous album Bridge The Gap was released in December 2013.
