METALLICA Issue Previously Unreleased 1985 Live Video Recording Of ‘Ride The Lightning’

San Francisco, California-based heavy metal group Metallica reissue their first two full-length studio albums, Kill ’Em All (1983) and Ride The Lightning (1984), on April 15th, 2016 through the band’s own Blackened Recordings label.

Both albums have been remastered and made available in three formats; CD, vinyl and a limited edition deluxe box set. The deluxe box sets includes original source material from the band’s personal collection with many never before heard or seen recordings along with books including rare photos and essays from those who were there.

The deluxe numbered box set for Kill ‘Em All includes four vinyl records, five CDs, one DVD, and a hardcover book including rare photos and a patch. Meanwhile, the deluxe numbered box set for Ride The Lightning includes four vinyl records, six CDs, one DVD, a hardcover book including more unseen photos, a mini-book of lyrics handwritten by frontman James Hetfield, and a set of three posters.

An early live video recording of the track ‘Whiplash’, filmed at the band’s show at The Metro in Chicago, Illinois on August 12th, 1983, can be viewed below. The previously unreleased footage is included on the remastered deluxe box set edition of Kill ‘Em All.

In addition, a previously unreleased live video recording of ‘Ride The Lightning’ from Metallica’s appearence at the Day On The Green festival in Oakland, California on August 31st, 1985 can also be viewed below. This footage is included on the remastered deluxe box set edition of Ride The Lightning.
