MAYHEM Premiere ‘Black Glass Communion’ Music Video
August 4th, 2021

Oslo, Norway-based black metal band Mayhem have released a music video for the track ‘Black Glass Communion’. Directed by Zev Deans, the clip can be viewed below.

Speaking about the collaboration with Mayhem, director Zev Deans said: “When approaching a metal music video, some might roll their eyes and think to themselves ‘how many times do I have to watch a satanic ritual sacrifice before I see something new?’ But for any true Satanist, ritual is an essential part of life that you must repeat again and again with the same sincerity and enthusiasm that you brought to your first time. The very nature of ritual is that it is repetitive, a mantra, a drone that is echoed through different bodies and different times. In my approach to ‘Black Glass Communion’, this truth was unwavering. Now, you must look deep into the depths of the black glass and see what emerges before you.”

Mayhem issued seven-song EP Atavistic Black Disorder / Kommando on July 9th, 2021 through Century Media Records.

The EP features one previously unreleased track, ‘Voces Ab Alta’, along with two songs – ‘Black Glass Communion’ and ‘Everlasting Dying Flame’ – which appeared as bonus tracks on special editions of the band’s 2019 studio album Daemon. The remaining four tracks are cover renditions of songs by Discharge, Dead Kennedys, Rudimentary Peni and Ramones.

Cover artwork was created by Italian designer Daniele Valeriani.

The track listing is as follows:

01. ‘Voces Ab Alta’
02. ‘Black Glass Communion’
