MARK MORTON: LAMB OF GOD Guitarist Performs Acoustic Rendition Of ‘Reveal’ Solo Track At Boston Radio Station
April 5th, 2019

Mark Morton, guitarist of Richmond, Virginia-based metal group Lamb Of God, performed an acoustic version of his solo track ‘Reveal’ at the studios of Boston, Massachusetts’ WAAF radio station, which can be viewed below.

Joining Morton for the performance were two members of his solo touring band, namely vocalist Mark Morales (Sons Of Texas) and guitarist Doc Coyle (Bad Wolves / ex-God Forbid).

Mark Morton issued debut solo full-length studio album Anesthetic on March 1st, 2019 through WPP Records and Spinefarm Records.

The project began as an idea between Jake Oni (leader of Ontario, Canada-based technical progressive metal band Oni and founder of WPP Records), producer Josh Wilbur, and Mark Morton. Wilbur co-wrote recorded, mixed and produced, while Jake Oni co-wrote and performed.

“This album wasn’t a concerted effort to start something outside Lamb Of God,” Mark Morton commented. “Music is always in my head, and until I write and record it, it’s stuck there. But once I record it, it’s out. It’s a catharsis, more for my own sanity.”

Vocalists on the album include Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God), Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), Myles Kennedy (Slash / Alter Bridge), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Mark Lanegan, Chuck Billy (Testament), Jake Oni, Josh Todd (Buckcherry), Mark Morales, and Naeemah Maddox.

Musically, Morton performed all guitars, with Roy Mayorga (Stone Sour), David Ellefson (Megadeth), Ray Luzier (Korn), Paolo Gregoletto (Trivium) and Alex Bent (Trivium), Mike Inez (Alice In Chains), Jean-Paul Gaster (Clutch), Steve Gorman and Marc Paul rounding out the band.

The track listing is as follows;

01. ‘Cross Off’ (feat. Chester Bennington)
02. ‘Sworn Apart’ (feat. Jacoby Shaddix)
03. ‘Axis’ (feat. Mark Lanegan)
04. ‘The Never’ (feat. Chuck Billy and Jake Oni)
05. ‘Save Defiance’ (feat. Myles Kennedy)
06. ‘Blur’ (feat. Mark Morales)
07. ‘Back From The Dead’ (feat. Josh Todd)
08. ‘Reveal’ (feat. Naeemah Maddox)
09. ‘Imaginary Days’
10. ‘Truth Is Dead’ (feat. Randy Blythe and Alissa White-Gluz)

A music video was filmed for the track ‘Cross Off’. Featuring guest vocals from late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, the clip can be viewed below.

Morton said his experience working on ‘Cross Off’ with Bennington “was a very free flowing and natural process. We both really loved the song from its inception and everyone that worked on it put a lot of energy and emotion into it. I feel like you can really hear that in the track, and absolutely in Chester’s performance.”

Official lyric videos were created for the songs ‘Truth Is Dead’ and ‘Cross Off’, which can also be viewed below.
