JAMES LABRIE: DREAM THEATER Vocalist Premieres ‘Am I Right’ Music Video
May 16th, 2022

James LaBrie, vocalist for Long Island, New York-based progressive metal band Dream Theater, has released a music video for the track ‘Am I Right’. Directed by Wayne Joyner, the clip can be viewed below.

Speaking about the song, James LaBrie said: “The anthemic song of the album with gorgeous chordal picking and progressions. A perfect marriage between melody and music. Extremely dynamic throughout with an epic and glorious ending.”

Bassist Paul Logue added: “This song was a real labour of love from James and I. It holds a special place in our hearts and has such emotion, feeling, melody and the climax is just fantastic!”

James LaBrie issues fourth solo full-length studio album Beautiful Shade Of Grey on May 20th, 2022 through InsideOut Music.

Beautiful Shade Of Grey marks a full-length collaboration between James LaBrie and Eden’s Curse bassist Paul Logue, who initially collaborated in 2011 for the Eden’s Curse track ‘No Holy Man’. The pair remained in touch, and discussed collaborating with one another on another project. Dream Theater performed in Glasgow during the late winter of 2020, during which LaBrie and Logue would run into each other at the airport. This meeting would culminate in the Beautiful Shade Of Grey album.

“A lot of these lyrics are dealing with the beauty of human beings, and a lot are dealing with the grey areas of the in between,” James LaBrie commented. “You’re not exactly happy, but you’re not exactly sad either.”
