GUS G. Releases Debut Solo Album ‘I Am The Fire’

Thessaloniki, Greece-based guitarist Gus G. – guitarist for the Ozzy Osbourne band as well as his own group Firewind – issued debut solo full-length album I Am The Fire internationally on March 17th, 2014 through Century Media Records. The label scheduled North American release for the 18th.

The outing was cut between Los Angeles, California and the axeman’s home country of Greece through the latter half of 2013. Gus G. performed guitar, bass and keyboard duties on I Am The Fire. Guests featured included; drummers Jeff Friedl (A Perfect Circle / Puscifer / Devo) and Daniel Erlandsson (Arch Enemy), bassists David Ellefson (Megadeth), Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, David Lee Roth) and Marty O’Brien (Tommy Lee / We Are The Fallen / Lita Ford), and vocalists Mats Levén (Candlemass / ex-Yngwie Malmsteen / ex-Therion), Blake Allison (Devour The Day), Michael Starr (Steel Panther), Alexia Rodriguez (Eyes Set To Kill), Tom S. Englund (Evergrey), Jacob Bunton (Adler) and Jeff Scott Soto (Tran-Siberian Orchestra / Talisman / ex-Journey / ex-Yngwie Malmsteen).

Mixing duties were handled by Jay Ruston. I Am The Fire’s cover artwork was designed by Gustavo Sazes.

Title track ‘I Am The Fire’ was digitally released as a single on February 25th, 2014 in North America. Directed by Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, music videos were filmed for the title track, ‘My Will Be Done’, and ‘Eyes Wide Open’. Also, a performance video was released for the song ‘Blame It On Me’.

In its first week of release, I Am The Fire sold roughly 700 copies in the United States. Also, the record landed at position 27 on the Greek album chart.
