June 26th, 2017

Pontypridd, Wales-based guitarist Phil Campbell, formerly of hard rock trio Motörhead, is in the midst of recording a debut full-length solo studio album.

Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford, Ugly Kid Joe vocalist Whitfield Crane and Twister Sister singer Dee Snider have agreed to guest appear, with Campbell hoping for a series of guest vocalists to lend their services. Skindred frontman Benji Webbe has recorded guest parts, with former Guns N’ Roses and The Cult drummer Matt Sorum recording a drum track.

On the evening of February 7th, 2016, Slipknot percussionist Chris Fehn recorded guest drum parts for the effort. Video footage can be viewed below.

Campbell was Motörhead’s guitarist from February 1984 until the passing of frontman Ian ‘Lemmy’ Kilmister, who succumbed to cancer on December 28th, 2015 – four days following his 70th birthday.
