PHIL CAMPBELL: Former MOTÖRHEAD Guitarist Discusses ‘Straight Up’ Track Feat. JUDAS PRIEST’s Rob Halford In New Video Trailer

Pontypridd, Wales-based guitarist Phil Campbell, formerly of hard rock trio Motörhead, has released an official video trailer in which he discusses the track ‘Straight Up’; a song featuring guest vocals from Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford. The interview clip and recently issued lyric video for the track can both be viewed below.

Speaking about the collaboration with Rob Halford, Campbell said: “‘The Metal God’ Rob Halford has always been an artist I admire. His distinctive vocals and stage presence have rocked millions of fans all over the world, so I count myself blessed to have written a rockin’ song together with him!”

Phil Campbell issued his debut full-length solo studio album Old Lions Still Roar on October 25th, 2019 through Nuclear Blast Records.

Old Lions Still Roar features a number of guest contributions, including Alice Cooper, Joe Satriani, Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford, Twister Sister singer Dee Snider, Skindred vocalist Benji Webbe, Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars, former Guns N’ Roses and The Cult drummer Matt Sorum, and ex-Slipknot percussionist Chris Fehn.

Campbell commented: “I’m really happy to release my first solo album, Old Lions Still Roar, worldwide. I’m also honoured to have mega talented guests and friends do their thing. Looking forward to everyone taking a listen!”

Phil Campbell was Motörhead’s guitarist from February 1984 until the passing of frontman Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, who succumbed to cancer on December 28th, 2015 – four days following his 70th birthday.

Old Lions Still Roar was released in the following formats: slipcase CD, black vinyl LP, limited edition (500 copies) clear vinyl LP, limited edition (300 copies) gold vinyl LP, and digital. The album was also issued with two different covers, with black and white artwork for the slipcase CD and digital versions, and coloured artwork for the vinyl LP variants.

Created by Ashley Miles at Hot Frog Animations, an animated music video was released for the track ‘These Old Boots’. In addition, an official lyric video was created for the song ‘Swing It’. Both clips can also be viewed below.
