Former KISS Guitarist ACE FREHLEY Releases Solo Covers Album ‘Origins Vol. 1’

New York-based guitarist Ace Frehley, formerly of Kiss, issued solo covers album Origins Vol. 1 on April 15th, 2016 through Entertainment One Music.

A music video, featuring Kiss frontman Paul Stanley, was filmed for Frehley’s cover of Free’s ‘Fire And Water’ and can be viewed below. The album’s rendition marked the first occasion the pair had appeared on the same studio recording since 1998 Kiss reunion affair Psycho Circus.

Cover interpretations of the Kiss tracks ‘Parasite’ and ‘Cold Gin’ feature Frehley singing those respective tracks for the first time, meanwhile, Frehley having originally penned the two.

Other guests include guitarists Slash (Guns N’ Roses / Velvet Revolver), John 5 (Rob Zombie / ex-Marilyn Manson), and Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), as well as hard rock frontwoman Lita Ford.

Origins Vol. 1 shifted 16,109 equivalent album units in the United States in its first week of release, of which 15,824 were pure album sales. The effort charted at position 23 on the Billboard 200.

Sixth solo studio record Space Invader was released in August 2014.
