FEAR FACTORY Release Ninth Studio Album ‘Genexus’
August 7th, 2015

Los Angeles, California-based industrial metal group Fear Factory issued ninth full-length studio album Genexus on August 7th, 2015 through Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

The outing was recorded in part at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood, California with longtime producer Rhys Fulber and engineer Mike Plotnikoff, while Damien Rainuad and Giuseppe Bassi oversaw most of the keyboard parts as well as pre-production. Andy Sneap handled mixing responsibilities. Cover artwork duties fell to Anthony Clarkson, once again.

The word “genexus” happens to be a hybrid of the words “genesis” and “nexus”. The term apparently describes the next transition in human evolution as man moves forward to a “mechanical” state of being, which Ray Kurzweil predicts that the singularity will occur around 2045.

The track listing is as follows;

01. ‘Autonomous Combat System’
02. ‘Anodized’
03. ‘Dielectric’
04. ‘Soul Hacker’
05. ‘Protomech’
06. ‘Genexus’
07. ‘Church Of Execution’
08. ‘Regenerate’
09. ‘Battle For Utopia’
10. ‘Expiration Date’

Limited digipak bonus tracks;

11. ‘Mandatory Sacrifice (Genexus Remix)’
12. ‘Enhanced Reality’

A listening party for Genexus was held on July 23rd at the Complex in Glendale, California. In its first week of release, Genexus charted in the following countries; Ireland (#7), Australia (#15), Germany (#17), Switzerland (#18), Austria (#25), Finland (#25), the UK (#31), the Netherlands (#34), Belgium (#35), Canada (#36), the USA (#37), the Czech Republic (#42), and France (#55).

Music videos were filmed for the tracks ‘Dielectric’ and ‘Expiration Date’, which can be viewed below. In addition, official lyric videos were created for the songs ‘Soul Hacker’, ‘Protomech’ and ‘Regenerate’.

Eighth studio record The Industrialist was released in June 2012 via AFM Records.
