EXMORTUS Issue Visualiser Video For ‘Storm Of Strings’ Track
August 4th, 2023

Whittier, California-based thrash / death metal band Exmortus have released an official visualiser video for the track ‘Storm Of Strings’, which can be viewed below.

‘Storm Of Strings’ is a cover rendition of new age artist Yanni’s song ‘The Storm’, which was based off of the great Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi’s concertos ‘The Four Seasons’.

Regarding the song, frontman Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez said: “We’ve been meaning to cover this piece for a long time and now it feels right for Necrophony. Honouring two artists at once, we give you a heavy metal shred version of Yanni’s arrangement of Vivaldi’s ‘Summer Concerto’. Enjoy the groove, enjoy the passion!”

Exmortus issue sixth full-length studio album Necrophony on August 25th, 2023 through Nuclear Blast Records.

Necrophony was an album title idea for as long as I can remember,” frontman Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez commented. “This symphony of the dead couldn’t be realized for a collection of songs until now. Finally, we have our darkest and most classically inspired work yet, with artwork by the great Toha Mashudi to match perfectly. We returned to Sharkbite Studios to have the mighty wizard that is Zack Ohren aid us again in forging our metal, and resulted in the finest steel we’re all proud to wield on the battlefield.”

As referenced, Zach Ohren returned, acting as producer, engineer, mixer and masterer for Necrophony. Recording sessions took place at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California, with the album tracked in just under two weeks.

On Necrophony, Exmortus have lyrically gone from a Conan The Barbarian and Gladiator type of aesthetic to some of “the eeriest and evilest Lovecraftian and Tolkien-esque tales,” according to a press release.

Cover artwork was designed by Toha Mashudi.
