BODY COUNT Release New Radio Edit Version Of ‘No Lives Matter’ Track
June 17th, 2020

Los Angeles, California-based metal group Body Count have released a new radio edit of their track ‘No Lives Matter’, which appeared on the band’s 2017 album Bloodlust. The original music video for the song can be viewed below.

According to Body Count frontman Ice-T, the track’s message is more relevant than ever as he stated in the music video intro, “…when I say ‘Black Lives Matter’ and you say ‘All Lives Matter’, that’s like if I was to say ‘Gay Lives Matter’ and you say ‘All Lives Matter’. If I said, ‘Women’s Lives Matter’ and you say ‘All Lives Matter’, you’re diluting what I’m saying. You’re diluting the issue. The issue isn’t about everybody, it’s about black lives, at the moment.”

Century Media Records Director Philipp Schulte added: “As a company we felt it was necessary to release this single as a way to actively participate in the change that is needed to combat police brutality and racism. It is a first step in doing our part to inspire unity and transformation.”

Body Count issued sixth full-length studio album Bloodlust on March 31st, 2017 through Century Media Records.

As was the case with previous effort Manslaughter, the outing was produced by Will Putney. The album includes a guest guitar solo from Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine on the track ‘Civil War’, and also guest vocal appearances from former Sepultura and current Soulfly / Cavalera Conspiracy frontman Max Cavalera on the song ‘All Love Is Lost’ and Lamb Of God singer Randy Blythe on the cut ‘Walk With Me…’.
