FERAL FORMS
Premalignant EP

Night Terrors / Filth Junkies (2023)
Rating: 8/10

Do you remember that strange banging noise you heard in your pipes recently? What about the weird clanking cacophony from underneath the bathtub? Well, such sounds have been a warning because now is the time for Italian band Feral Forms to rise from their sewer lair like a slithering, screaming horde of sub-aquatic parasites and they are coming for YOU!

With this debut three-track affair, Feral Forms (featuring members of The Secret, Claustrum, Grime and Fierce) is that army of foul entities you’ve always had nightmares about as they charge up your drain pipe and into your mouth, wailing flailing and howling with horror and hate. For just over 11 minutes your skin is stripped, your bones ground to dust and blood siphoned as the foursome rabidly constructs relentless gales of horrendous, billowing fury; cavernous, demented and downright scary.

You can have the track titles – ‘Hunter Of Chaos, ‘Premalignant’ and ‘Voice From The Altar’ l – but it matters not because this release is just one horrid hailstorm; volcanic, claustrophobic and seething. It’s too primitive to be death metal, just an “out there” cacophony of wretched chaos and hideous noise influenced only by the molten eruptions within the dank corners of Hell.

When the dreadfully manufactured UK all female pop group Girls Aloud sang about the “sound of the underground” I wonder if they were really talking about the vile inception of this rancid aberration. Approach with caution because this release will flush out your innards! This is subterranean horror in its impurest form.
