SHITFUCKER
Suck Cocks In Hell

Hells Headbangers (2013)
Rating: 7/10

Don’t expect to see the wonderfully named Shitfucker in the UK charts… or any chart for that matter. Take a trip to the lower regions of hell however, and you might find this trio of unholy souls indulging in a drunken satanic orgy involving too many 80s thrash metal albums!

Shitfucker are a noisy troop from Detroit, Michigan, and despite wandering aimlessly in the shadows of Hades since 2005, Suck Cocks In Hell is in fact their first full-length outing, following a career of several demos, EPs and split projects. The band play what simply can be described as dirty, oily, damp, mouldy black thrash fronted by belching vocals, with grim production for added cavernous effect.

Darkthrone fans will probably lap up this regressive style of retro metal that is one half demonic Motörhead, and then the next, foetid punk with lashings of Bathory and the like. It’s actually not too bad, however, and more tongue-in-cheek despite its stuffy-as-a-coffin nature on tracks such as the bizarre ‘Demonic Rock’ – a track which, despite its rusty riff, features an almost punky, yet memorable hook and disdainful prowess.

The whole feel of the record is a grim one, but one can’t help but be pulled in by the meat hooks of ‘Sex Dungeon’; the composition somehow manages to employ a glam rock “Ooh-ooh” swoon, all amidst a cauldron of absolutely blackened riffs and charcoal drums. It’s the sort of repulsive sound one could easily imagine in some sweaty early 80s club with Mohican-bearing teenagers pogoing within a sea of sweat and spit.

With its vile attitude, it’s hard to say if Suck Cocks In Hell is an improvement on past works, but once you’ve rid your clothes of the slime puked out by ‘Acid Bath’ or exorcise your house free of the sinister chimes of ‘I Am The Devil’ you might, eventually, find yourself chucking this cacophony back on the turntable for another spin, such is its grotty charm.

Shitfucker are probably one of the most evil sounding bands you’ll hear in 2013. The weird, backwards outro, ‘Ytinastinatas’, is worth the entrance fee alone! Keep on stoking the fires of hell!
