HELLCRASH
Demonic Assassinatiön

Dying Victims Productions (2023)
Rating: 8/10

These Italian cranks impressed me greatly with their 2021 debut full-length Krvcifix Invertör so it’s good to see them back firing on all satanic cylinders. Once again channelling the ghosts of Venom and old Teutonic evil, Hellcrash spits out a selection of rancid n’ rusty tracks like it was 1983.

With these sorts of albums there needs to be enough going on within its beastly belly to carry it above and beyond the glut of other releases boasting similar satanic sounds. Hellcrash just have the right ingredients because not only do they sound sincerely old school, they are also able to provide some crafty little melodies to engage the listener. When you hear tracks such as ‘Volcanic Outburst’, ‘Usurper Of Hell’, ‘Serpent Skullfuck’ and ‘Graveripper’ you appreciate their simplistic designs, but also such songs prompt you to rage along to the whirlwind of rust caused by such rantings.

Hellcrash was never going to return with some mind-bending records of great variety. It was always going to billow black smoke and cough up nuts n’ bolts, but the sheer ravenous intensity is what holds this bestial cacophony together. Seething from every crack and scathing from all the pores, Hellcrash’s return is one of top-tier black thrash that all black candles should be lit for.
