Los Angeles, California-based metal band DevilDriver issued tenth full-length studio album Dealing With Demons Vol. II<\/em> on May 12th, 2023 through Napalm Records.<\/p>\n

Dealing With Demons Vol. II<\/em> was once again produced and engineered by Steve Evetts with additional engineering from guitarist Mike Spreitzer.<\/p>\n

\u201cDealing With Demons Vol. II<\/em> is – simply put – a conversation in its entirety about Dealing With \u2018Inner\u2019 Demons,\u201d commented frontman Dez Fafara. \u201cIt\u2019s a conversation in song form between self and a power apart from one\u2019s self, and trying to bury old entities.\u201d<\/p>\n

A music video was filmed for the track \u2018Through The Depths\u2019. \u201c\u2018Through The Depths\u2019 is a conversation between a higher power and humans regarding the power of thinking ideas into existence, but being very careful of being arrogant behind those wants and needs,\u201d frontman Dez Fafara commented.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first lines give this away: \u2018Attention attention, you\u2019re seeking, you\u2019ve asked for, it\u2019s given\u2019 (the higher power says).<\/p>\n

\u201cThen the lines of the chorus are that same higher power speaking to humans, saying: \u2018through the depths to the ascension, nothing you wouldn\u2019t do for my attention, held to the fire it\u2019s not my crime, you\u2019ve pinned it on me for the last time.\u2019 Meaning – don\u2019t blame the Gods (pin it on them) for your fuck ups. Meaning – put it out there and take steps to attain goals and take accountability.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis track is the essence of Dealing With Demons Vol. II, and the conversations within the record get way deeper than even this. Enjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition, a music video was filmed for the song \u2018If Blood Is Life\u2019. \u201cShadows of the future, ghosts of your past walking the floor – why do these things haunt us as humans, when we should be focused on the fact that, like the chorus says, \u2018Time, it waits for no one, Time, it\u2019s worth the taking,\u2019\u201d Dez Fafara said. \u201cLearn to focus on the now, the here, the present.\u201d<\/p>\n

And as well, a music video was filmed for the track \u2018This Relationship, Broken\u2019. \u201c\u2018This Relationship, Broken\u2019 explores the severance that happens between two long time partners when they leave each other after years of turmoil,\u201d Dez Fafara said.<\/p>\n
