FIRES IN THE DISTANCE Premiere \u2018Crumbling Pillars Of A Tranquil Mind\u2019 Music Video<\/strong><\/span>

Connecticut-based melodic death \/ doom metal band Fires In The Distance have released a music video for the track \u2018Crumbling Pillars Of A Tranquil Mind\u2019, which can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Crumbling Pillars Of A Tranquil Mind\u2019 Mind is one of the heaviest songs from Air Not Meant For Us<\/em>,\u201d Fires In The Distance commented. \u201cA slow, crushing, and heartfelt dive, detailing the devastating processes of complete mental collapse. The song highlights Randy Slaugh\u2019s orchestral contributions and brings forward deeply emotional passages through melancholy and melodic string sections.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fires In The Distance issue second full-length studio album Air Not Meant For Us<\/em> on April 28th, 2023 through Prosthetic Records.<\/p>\n

For Air Not Meant For Us<\/em>, chief songwriter Yegor Savonin teamed with producer Randy Slaugh for live orchestration in the form of violas, violins, cellos, as well as piano work. Drums were recorded at the Power Station in New England, while the rest of the instruments were tracked at Studio Wormwood in North Carolina with returning producer, Dave Kaminsky, who handled recording and mixing in both studios.<\/p>\n

Air Not Meant For Us<\/em> marks the debut of drummer Jordan Rippe.<\/p>\n

Burial In The Sky guitarist James Tomedi guests on the instrumental track \u2018Adrift, Beneath The Listless Waves\u2019.<\/p>\n

Cover artwork was designed by Caelan Stokkermans.<\/p>\n

Directed by labelmates Jayson Cessna and Paul Fuzinski of Astralborne, a music video was filmed for the track \u2018Wisdom Of The Falling Leaves\u2019. \u201cFor \u2018Wisdom Of The Falling Leaves\u2019 we were lucky enough to have Jayson Cessna and Paul Fuzinski of our labelmates Astralborne film and direct the whole thing, those guys are unbelievably talented, in music and in film so we really lucked out,\u201d Fires In The Distance commented.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe concept of the video is essentially a transition of the seasons, from the melancholy autumn theme we started with on Echoes From Deep November<\/em> to the bitter cold of Air Not Meant For Us<\/em>. Lyrically, the song encompasses the cycle of life, death, and rebirth, and acceptance of the inevitable.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition, an official lyric video was created for the track \u2018Harbingers\u2019. \u201c\u2018Harbingers\u2019 is a daring and eruptive introduction to our upcoming second album, Air Not Meant for Us<\/em>, concurrently putting the orchestral collaboration with Randy Slaugh in the aural forefront,\u201d Fires In The Distance said. \u201cReleasing a lyric video for the first track of the album felt like a natural way to introduce the themes, imagery and atmosphere of this sophomore release.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also, an official visualizer video was created for the track \u2018Idiopathic Despair\u2019. \u201c\u2018Idiopathic Despair\u2019 is one of the most powerful and sinister tracks from Air Not Meant For Us<\/em>, and also serves as the record\u2019s epilogue,\u201d Fires In The Distance said. \u201cAs a deeply personal segment, the song covers introspection into some of the most brutal and debilitating aspects of living with chronic depression, and depicts interior collisions with something that cannot always be expected or controlled.\u201d<\/p>\n
