If you get a spare 15 minutes why not give this four-track debut EP a try. Set The Record Straight<\/em> is the creation of Belgian thrashers Shock Treatment who provide a stylish and catchy brand of mid-tempo thrash equipped with plenty of melody.<\/p>\n

Opening track, \u2018Retribution\u2019, is a simple, chugging affair with beefy vocal slaps; \u2018Loyal To The Cause\u2019 rumbles with its effective bass and brings a lot more pace by blending a crossover thrash flavour where the axe work chugs along nicely to the volatile vocal rants. There is nothing at all complex or original about such a bruising ramble. \u2018Slithering Insanity\u2019 again has that tumbling thread of bass with neat, concise simplistic chugging, and closer \u2018The Rats Feast\u2019 follows a similar theme.<\/p>\n

Whether Shock Treatment gain any sort of exposure with this release remains to be seen, but this is an enjoyable if fleeting release that is immediately accessible due to its familiar hardcore rants.<\/p>\n
