Toronto, Ontario, Canada-based hard rock group Danko Jones have filmed a new music video for the track \u2018Get High?\u2019. Featuring guest vocals from Fucked Up frontman Damian Abraham, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the song, frontman and namesake Danko Jones said: \u201cWith the legalization of marijuana, it was inevitable a song like \u2018Get High?\u2019 would be birthed. I just didn\u2019t know it would be our band that penned the anthem for potheads everywhere. Damian Abraham of Fucked Up! even joins us to answer my question – Do you wanna get high? His answer is \u2018yes\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Danko Jones issue 11th full-length studio album Electric Sounds<\/em> on September 15th, 2023 through AFM Records (excluding Canada). Canadian release will be handled by Sonic Unyon.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot working for two years really felt like touring rock bands were being put out to pasture,\u201d commented frontman and namesake Danko Jones. \u201cBut I guess that only made us try harder. We were still able to record and release an album during the pandemic (Power Trio<\/em>, 2021). We toured as soon as we were allowed. Now that Electric Sounds<\/em> is getting released, it doesn\u2019t feel like we missed a beat. During the pandemic, we moved away from each other. JC lives in Finland and Rich lives in Prince Edward Island. So the writing for this band has changed. We used to bash out ideas in our rehearsal place, day after day, but it\u2019s more about sending files back and forth now. However, last summer, while on tour, we did manage to jam out ideas in a rehearsal room in Berlin for a few days. Out of those jams came the nubs for five songs…\u201d<\/p>\n

Electric Sounds<\/em> was produced by Eric Ratz, and features guest spots from Tyler Stewart (Barenaked Ladies), Damian Abraham (Fucked Up) and guitarist Daniel Dekay (Exciter).<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d like to think Electric Sounds<\/em> falls in line with all our previous albums,\u201d said Danko Jones. \u201cOver the years, we\u2019ve carved out a sound and we\u2019re sticking to it. But if you were to zoom in and compare it to other albums, I\u2019d like to think it\u2019s a bit faster than our other albums. Initially, I wanted all the songs to sound like our song, \u2018Cadillac\u2019 – plodding, mid-tempo, heavy, and to the point.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur songs are usually about rocking, wanting to rock, enjoying life while rocking, and sometimes I\u2019ll sing about a woman. You can expect zero surprises!\u201d<\/p>\n

Directed by Philip Hovensj\u00f6 (Horseboy), a music video was filmed for the track \u2018Good Time\u2019, while a live performance music video was also released for the song. In addition, official lyric videos were created for the tracks \u2018Guess Who\u2019s Back\u2019 and \u2018Good Time\u2019. All four clips can also be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Tenth studio record Power Trip<\/em> was released in August 2021 in Europe through Mate In Germany \/ About Us Records, with Sonic Unyon handling North American issue.<\/p>\n
