Norwegian black metal project Ru\u00efm have released an official lyric video for the track \u2018The Triumph (Of Night & Fire)\u2019. Created by Matthew Vickerstaff, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Speaking about \u2018The Triumph (Of Night & Fire)\u2019, Ru\u00efm mastermind Rune Eriksen said: \u201cThe song represents some sorts of a nexus, a binding energy or a red line that runs through the album thematically. Not only from a lyrical point of view with its spiritual \u2018battle cry\u2019 of sorts, but also from a musical standpoint. The cleaner, eerie passages mixed with the chaos-like elements, vivid time changes and brute power all serve as junctions to the dedication and passion that sums up this album as a whole.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ru\u00efm issue debut full-length studio album Black Royal Spiritism \u2013 I.O Sino da Igreja<\/em> on May 26th, 2023 through Peaceville Records.<\/p>\n

Ru\u00efm was formed in 2020 by former Mayhem guitarist Rune \u201cBlasphemer\u201d Eriksen, inspired by the rediscovery of a long lost tape of old, unused Mayhem-era riffs from 1998-99. \u201cForged over two years of lockdown and global panic, the result is a vicious and pitch black take on the genre I started my career in back in the mid 90s,\u201d Eriksen commented. \u201cWith hints to some of my past works as well as a leap into the unexplored, this conceptual offering is not only a personal journey, but also a celebration and a dedication to the linha da esquerda\u2026 and everything therein.\u201d<\/p>\n

Black Royal Spiritism \u2013 I.O Sino da Igreja<\/em> marks the beginning of a concept set to span a trilogy of releases exploring Eriksen\u2019s own beliefs in terms of the Umbanda tradition, the album also immersed in Brazilian witchcraft.<\/p>\n

Recording sessions took place at Drudenhaus Studio in France, while mastering was handled by Jack Control at Enormous Door in Austin, Texas. <\/p>\n

Eriksen handled guitars, bass and vocals, the vocals sung in a mix of English, Portuguese and Norwegian, with lyrical themes rooted in a celebration and dedication to the lore and rituals of linha da esquerda.<\/p>\n
