THE 69 EYES Unveil Music Video For \u2018This Murder Takes Two\u2019 Feat. Kat Von D<\/strong><\/span>

Helsinki, Finland-based gothic metal band The 69 Eyes have filmed a music video for the track \u2018This Murder Takes Two\u2019. Featuring guest vocals from Mexican-born American singer, model and tattoo artist Kat Von D, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the collaboration, frontman Jyrki 69 said: \u201cJohn Carter Cash, Johnny Cash\u2019s son, was in talks to record and produce an acoustic EP with us at Johnny Cash\u2019s very own Cabin Studios in the US. We demoed some potential songs yet we ultimately never did this recording. This song somewhat just stuck with us. It wasn\u2019t complete without a female touch though, which is why we asked our good friend Kat Von D to sing on it. It\u2019s my personal favourite [on the album].\u201d<\/p>\n

Kat Von D added: \u201cIt\u2019s always such a pleasure working with The 69 Eyes boys. I\u2019ve been such a huge fan of their music for so long. \u2018This Murder Takes Two\u2019 is such a special song. Even though it\u2019s not the typical style of music that I am used to singing to, it was so much fun stepping out of my comfort zone. Jyrki has a beautiful way of sprinkling goth romance onto everything he does, even when it\u2019s a western style song.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 69 Eyes issued 13th full-length studio album Death Of Darkness<\/em> on April 21st, 2023 through Atomic Fire Records worldwide, excluding Finland, where the effort was issued through Vallila Music House. Physical versions of Death Of Darkness<\/em> will be available in the United States on May 5th.<\/p>\n

The 69 Eyes\u2019 frontman Jyrki 69 commented: \u201cWe started to make this album single by single, releasing first singles then an EP and now eventually the whole album. The method kept everything fresh and us on our toes while recording and writing new music. Our main aim was to get The 69 Eyes back to the Finland\u2019s airwaves. Our music is still on the radio but over fifteen-year-old classics. How about new ones? The first single, \u2018Drive\u2019, made this happen and we hit the jackpot here in Finland by being a part of Sing meinen Song \u2013 Das Tauschkonzert<\/em> mainstream TV music show format! Now The 69 Eyes are back in the spotlight and Finland\u2019s top rock band is playing sold-out shows.\u201d<\/p>\n

Death Of Darkness<\/em> was recorded and produced by Erno Laitinen at Inkfish Studios in Helsinki. Miles Walker took care of the mixing at Westside Sound Studios in Atlanta, Georgia alongside Erno Laitinen, while mastering duties were handled by Tom Baker. <\/p>\n

The track \u2018This Murder Takes Two\u2019 features guest vocals from Mexican-born American singer, model and tattoo artist Kat Von D.<\/p>\n
