And the latest bunch of denim-clad chest-pounders to add to the rollicking roster is Ecuadorian posse Ripperw\u00f6lf.<\/p>\n<p><em>Prepare For Attack!<\/em> is the band\u2019s debut EP and it\u2019s a nifty, clean-cut yet speedy effort boasting four main songs which are \u2018Ripperw\u00f6lf\u2019, \u2018Rising From Fire\u2019, \u2018No Time To Die\u2019 and \u2018Speed Of The Light\u2019. A live studio session rendition of Night Demon\u2019s \u2018Full Speed Ahead\u2019 is also included as a bonus track.<\/p>\n<p>The opening namesake track \u2018Ripperw\u00f6lf\u2019 is catchy, more so in its soaring chorus and the sizzling vocal pipes of guitarist Estefano Ripper W\u00f6lf, while \u2018Rising From The Fire\u2019 is probably the fastest tune the band has to offer. It\u2019s all good stuff, channelling the likes of Exciter whereby traditional heavy metal becomes fused with speedier dynamics. \u2018No Time To Die\u2019 too features some flashy lead work and is an accessible gallop before shifting into a typical mid-80s clank.<\/p>\n<p>The EP is a tad generic but there are plenty of solid choruses to behold in this concise if rather predictable flash in the pan. I guess because there are so many bands doing this style of pure metal mastery it\u2019s difficult for me to get excited by such a glut of burning steel, but those with a fondness for such leathery hail should find much to savour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Neil Arnold<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RIPPERW\u00d6LFPrepare For Attack!
