I like the way this Chinese four-piece slaps words together which clearly don\u2019t work. But hey, if you\u2019re gonna spew out a cacophony such as this then who cares about titles eh? Demonslaught 666 formed two years ago and have previously released an EP entitled Speed Alcoholic Evil<\/em>, a single called \u2018Dirty Pussy Maniac\u2019 and were also involved in a split EP project \u2013 Raven And The Slaughterer<\/em> \u2013 with Chaos Century from Canada.<\/p>\n

Nekroslaughter Battlefield<\/em> is a furious five-track melee dripping with blackened speed aesthetics and propelled further into the fiery realms by the vocals of a chap named Paravoid, who also whacks his bass with metal chains by the sounds of it. Paravoid is joined by drum lord A New Machine, and the twin axe team of Evilslaughter and Evakevak.<\/p>\n

This is that sort of steely, belching speedball you\u2019ve heard before, often from South America whereby those involved dabble in the dark arts and scorch their sound with flamethrowers. From beginning to end it\u2019s a full on ruckus that only Lord Satan himself could put up with, but those with a fondness for no frills yet hostile thrash will inhale the black fumes of this tumult.<\/p>\n

My favourite track of the five is \u2018Midnight Holocaust\u2019, a lethal dose of old school energy which channels the first waves of black metal while nodding to the early days of Slayer<\/a>. But everything about this EP is potent; a billowing, primitive wave of sordid thrashing summed up by the clanking hails of \u2018The Witch\u2019s Calling Beyond The Galaxy\u2019 and sure fire chart topper \u2018Nekromancers Under the AXE!\u2019 (note the use of capitals in the word \u201caxe\u201d for greater effect!).<\/p>\n

Nekroslaughter Battlefield<\/em> is an enjoyable romp although it took a while to swat the black smoke away!.<\/p>\n
