Bavaria\u2019s Denial Of Death is an interesting clan with vocals that lean towards a more industrialised sneer, but I guess, for the most part, this is a very atmospheric black \/ death opus. The vocals of this composition are handled by bassist Glauber Haereticus who is joined by guitarists Susie Merz and J\u00falio C\u00e9zar and drummer Olethros, and together they create a ghoulish and at times a rather original batch of songs.<\/p>\n

When you hear the trudging menace of \u2018Among The Dead\u2019 you get a traditional metal feel only with snarling vocals, and yet the title track is daubed in a Gothic grandiosity that mixes thrash \/ Goth and black metal aesthetics \u2013 and that\u2019s what makes this record so rewarding.<\/p>\n

From the off with \u2018Evil By Nature\u2019 right to the close of \u2018Black Mass\u2019 there\u2019s a driving sense of darkness and foreboding channelled through an unorthodox industrial-tinged tone which at times reminds me of Malhavoc.<\/p>\n

I just can\u2019t pin this platter down. Okay, so \u2018God Is Dead\u2019 has that raw, primitive black metal feel alongside a raging punkniness, but \u2018Pleasure In Pain\u2019 has far more going on within its theatrical layers as does the chugging \u2018Kill The Clown\u2019 with its eventual hasty retreats. If any album was suited to an All Hallows\u2019 Eve release it was this!<\/p>\n
