HOST, Feat. PARADISE LOST Members, Stream Lustmord Ambient Remix Of \u2018Hiding From Tomorrow\u2019<\/strong><\/span>

West Yorkshire, England-based gothic rock band Host, featuring members of Paradise Lost, have made the Lustmord ambient remix of their track \u2018Hiding From Tomorrow\u2019 available for streaming via YouTube, which can be accessed below.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the collaboration with Welsh industrial musician Lustmord (aka Brian Williams), guitarist Greg Mackintosh said: \u201cLustmord has taken this track from electro goth into a whole new territory. I love it when a remix drifts far and wide from its source material and he has certainly done that. He has created a sprawling, emotive, cinematic soundscape.\u201d<\/p>\n

Host issued debut full-length studio album IX<\/em> on February 24th, 2023 through Nuclear Blast Records.<\/p>\n

In relation to the project itself, guitarist Greg Mackintosh commented: \u201cHost is something that I had in mind for a few years but never had the time to do it justice until now. It\u2019s taking the concept of what we attempted to do on the Paradise Lost album Host<\/em> (May 1999) but approaching it in a modern context. It\u2019s part 80s goth, part electro, part rock but none of them specifically. The emphasis is on hooks and atmosphere. It\u2019s quite a challenge to make miserable music catchy and hopefully we\u2019ve achieved that to some degree.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe always stood by Host<\/em> as an album,\u201d Mackintosh further explained. \u201cThis project is not totally connected to that album, but some of the ideas are extrapolated. We\u2019re taking the basic premise and trying it out now. And, really, it was something fun and interesting for us to do. We\u2019ve been doing Paradise Lost for a long time and got an itch to try something different from where Paradise Lost is now. I could take Paradise Lost down this route again. Who knows? It may happen if we live long enough, but I thought, \u2018Why not now?\u2019 I had the time to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Included as a bonus track on the digipak CD version of IX<\/em> is a cover interpretation of the track \u2018I Ran\u2019. Written by A Flock Of Seagulls, its original rendition was featured on the band\u2019s April 1982 debut.<\/p>\n
