Stockholm, Sweden-based melodic death metal band Amon Amarth have filmed a music video for the track \u2018Saxons And Vikings\u2019. Directed by Pavel Trebukhin and featuring guest vocals from Saxon frontman Biff Byford, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Amon Amarth issued 12th full-length studio album The Great Heathen Army<\/em> on August 5th, 2022 through Metal Blade Records.<\/p>\n

Amon Amarth frontman Johan Hegg commented: \u201cOverall The Great Heathen Army<\/em> is one of the heavier albums we\u2019ve made. There are some dark and heavy songs that are really powerful and in-your-face, but we obviously have some trademark melodic Amon Amarth songs on there as well, and a few surprises too. It\u2019s a really well-balanced album. It sounds great. Andy Sneap is awesome. It was great to be able to work with him again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Guitarist Olavi Mikkonen added: \u201cWe\u2019ve been away making new music and we\u2019re back with new darker, more death-metal sounding album. If Berserker was our \u2018heavy metal\u2019 album, then The Great Heathen Army is our \u2018death metal\u2019 album. But with that said, it\u2019s still very much contemporary Amon Amarth, but perhaps style-wise we have gone back to our roots a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n
