German dark metal band Agathodaimon issued seventh full-length studio album The Seven<\/em> on March 18th, 2022 through Napalm Records.<\/p>\n

As suggested by the album\u2019s title, The Seven<\/em> is thematically centred around the number seven and the seven deadly sins – sloth, greed, lust, gluttony, pride, wrath, envy.<\/p>\n

Guitarist Sathonys commented: \u201cWell, we took our time in creating this album. We had to make sure we (can) work together as a band after all these years, that the chemistry is there, that it feels organic to release another album after such a long break. To cut it short, we\u2019re really looking forward to have The Seven<\/em> out, as we\u2019re very satisfied with it. More than that, we\u2019re proud of it. Typically, you can point a finger at one or two songs that really stand out from the rest, but here, you\u2019ll feel the effort that was put into every song and every aspect. Not only in terms of songwriting, there\u2019s also the artistic concept and visual artwork \/ realization delivered by the team of Credo Quia Absurdum, or the excellent production under the supervision of our friend Kristian \u2018Kohle\u2019 Kohlmannslehner (Powerwolf, Aborted, Benighted etc.). Usually you have to be prepared to make compromises. The Seven<\/em> is far from that, as it is our most ambitious album to date.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Seven<\/em> marks Agathodaimon\u2019s first album in nine years, Sathonys temporarily placing the band on hold in 2014 due to private circumstances.<\/p>\n

As referenced, The Seven<\/em> was produced by Kristian \u2018Kohle\u2019 Kohlmannslehner. Former Agathodaimon vocalist Vlad Dracul guests on the track \u2018Mother Of All Gods\u2019, marking his first appearance with the band since 1999. Benighted frontman Julien Truchan guests on the song \u2018Kyrie \/ Gloria\u2019, meanwhile.<\/p>\n

Sixth studio record In Darkness<\/em> was released in June 2013 via Massacre.<\/p>\n
