SAXON Premiere \u2018Dambusters\u2019 Music Video<\/strong><\/span>

Yorkshire, England-based heavy metal band Saxon have filmed a music video for the track \u2018Dambusters\u2019, which can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Saxon issued 23rd full-length studio album Carpe Diem<\/em> on February 4th, 2022 through Silver Lining Music.<\/p>\n

Regarding the album, frontman Biff Byford stated: \u201cWe want every album we make to go platinum. We never make an album that we don\u2019t expect to be fantastic because there are no laurels around here, and as a band, we\u2019re always trying to do something a little bit new, a little bit daring. I love fast metal like \u2018Princess Of The Night\u2019 and \u201820,000 Feet\u2019 and I try and bring that style of Saxon into the music now, but in a more modern style. We don\u2019t sound like an old band on records because we\u2019re not sitting back on our past success, we\u2019re always trying to make a great album.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a difficult two years because I had the heart attack back in September 2019, so things went a bit pear-shaped for the band. And then Covid hit two or three months later, but luckily, we started writing and recording this album before Covid. We did the drums in Germany and we did the guitars in various places. I was doing a lot of writing while I was in the hospital bed, and we spent quite a long time writing and arranging the ideas that we all had. I do think it\u2019s a very intense album, and maybe some of that intensity comes from the frustration of not being able to do anything in the Covid period.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carpe Diem<\/em> was co-produced by Andy Sneap and Biff Byford, while mixing and mastering duties also fell to Sneap at Backstage Recording Studio in Derbyshire, England.<\/p>\n

Cover artwork was once again created by long-time Saxon collaborator Paul Raymond Gregory.<\/p>\n

Twenty-second studio record Thunderbolt<\/em> was released<\/a> in February 2018 via Militia Guard, an imprint of Silver Lining Music.<\/p>\n
