Light the fires, batten down the hatches and prepare to be slaughtered by Flying V\u2019s, glinting swords and the stench of leather. Forged in the molten pits of Brazil\u2019s underground, Living Metal unleashes its pet dragon in the form of this debut studio album, Do You Believe In Steel?<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Arguably one of the most metal acts in the South American circuit, S\u00e3o Paulo\u2019s Living Metal has only existed for three years and already the gods are taking note. I really enjoyed the band\u2019s 2018 self-titled debut EP and I was hoping this full-length outing would hit like a hammer, and it does.<\/p>\n

With track titles such as \u2018We Are Metal… You Are Not!\u2019 and \u2018Alcohol\u2019 it\u2019s not humourless metal. And even with the more direct numbers like ‘Hitting The Road’ I can\u2019t help but chortle, even if the band doesn\u2019t want me to. However, this is still balls to the wall metal fury featuring chugging riffs, wild solos and rough \u2018n\u2019 ready vocals that leave greasy streaks on your windows.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s Only About Heavy Metal\u2019 stinks of cheese, but a tune such as \u2018By The Honor Of The Blade\u2019 shows the band in a more epic, serious light. \u2018Bells Of Freedom\u2019 clanks nicely, while \u2018Night Action\u2019 struts with sleaze and arrogance into the chimes of the title track.<\/p>\n

Think of Judas Priest, think of Grave Digger, maybe Manowar… y\u2019know the score \u2013 fiery, gritty, fully armoured and anthemic metal with drunken tendencies resulting in those sweathog band members stealing your wife.<\/p>\n
