RONNIE ATKINS: PRETTY MAIDS Vocalist Releases \u20184 More Shots (The Acoustics)\u2019 EP<\/strong><\/span>

Ronnie Atkins, vocalist of Horsens, Denmark-based hard rock \/ heavy metal band Pretty Maids, issued five-song EP 4 More Shots (The Acoustics)<\/em> on October 1st, 2021 through Frontiers Music Srl.<\/p>\n

4 More Shots (The Acoustics)<\/em> consists of one previously unreleased studio song, \u2018Carry Me Over\u2019, three acoustic versions of songs included on Ronnie Atkins\u2019 debut solo album One Shot<\/em>, plus the track \u2018One Shot (Orchestra Version)\u2019. The latter was previously only available as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of the album.<\/p>\n

\u201cCarry Me Over\u2019 was the first song I wrote after I was told my cancer had returned in March last year,\u201d said Atkins. \u201cI had hit rock bottom mentally and emotionally and was in a hopeless, frustrating period. It\u2019s pretty obvious when you listen to the lyrics, which are melancholic but also very honest. However, when I had to decide which songs were going on my solo album, I deliberately decided to leave it off as I thought the lyrics were too sad and depressing and that\u2019s not what I wanted to signal to fans. However, I still think it\u2019s a beautiful melody!\u201d<\/p>\n

As to the current state of his health, Atkins added: \u201cI\u2019m in a different place, not diagnosis-wise, but I feel good and I guess I\u2019ve somehow learned how to adapt to the situation and deal with it. Thanks to immunotherapy, a positive mindset, and, not the least of which, the almighty God, I\u2019m still here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The EP was recorded at Hansen Studios, Laneyland Studios and Platform CPR. It was produced and mixed by Chris Laney, co-produced and arranged by Anders Ringman, and mastered by Jacob Hansen.<\/p>\n
