The latter was previously only available as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of the album.

“Carry Me Over’ was the first song I wrote after I was told my cancer had returned in March last year,” said Atkins. “I had hit rock bottom mentally and emotionally and was in a hopeless, frustrating period. It’s pretty obvious when you listen to the lyrics, which are melancholic but also very honest. However, when I had to decide which songs were going on my solo album, I deliberately decided to leave it off as I thought the lyrics were too sad and depressing and that’s not what I wanted to signal to fans. However, I still think it’s a beautiful melody!”

As to the current state of his health, Atkins added: “I’m in a different place, not diagnosis-wise, but I feel good and I guess I’ve somehow learned how to adapt to the situation and deal with it. Thanks to immunotherapy, a positive mindset, and, not the least of which, the almighty God, I’m still here.”

The EP was recorded at Hansen Studios, Laneyland Studios and Platform CPR. It was produced and mixed by Chris Laney, co-produced and arranged by Anders Ringman, and mastered by Jacob Hansen.

The track listing is as follows:

01. ‘Carry Me Over’
02. ‘When Dreams Are Not Enough (Acoustic Version)’
03. ‘Picture Yourself (Acoustic Version)’
04. ‘Real (Acoustic Version)’
05. ‘One Shot (Orchestra Version)’ (bonus track)

4 More Shots (The Acoustics)’s recording line-up was as follows:

Ronnie Atkins (lead and backing vocals)
Chris Laney (acoustic guitars, bass and backing vocals)
Anders Ringman (acoustic and lead guitars, bass, piano and keyboards)
Allan Sørensen (drums)
Linnéa Vikström Egg (backing vocals)

Directed by Pontus Egberg, a music video was filmed for ‘Picture Yourself (Acoustic Version)’, which can be viewed below.

Debut studio record One Shot was released in March 2021 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Promotional photograph by Talle Savage.

RONNIE ATKINS: PRETTY MAIDS Vocalist Releases ‘4 More Shots (The Acoustics)’ EP October 1st, 2021 Ronnie Atkins, vocalist of Horsens, Denmark-based hard rock / heavy metal band Pretty Maids, issued five-song EP 4 More Shots (The Acoustics) on October 1st, 2021 through Frontiers Music Srl. 4 More Shots (The Acoustics) consists of one previously unreleased […]

[1068,4570

post-90589","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-pretty-maids-news","category-ronnie-atkins-news
["GET
