\nHamburg, Germany-based heavy metal band Running Wild have released an official lyric video for the track \u2018The Shellback\u2019. Created by Ingo Sp\u00f6rl (Hard Media), the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Running Wild issue 17th full-length studio album Blood On Blood<\/em> on October 29th, 2021 through Steamhammer \/ SPV.<\/p>\n

Running Wild mainman Rolf \u201cRock\u2019n\u2019Rolf\u201d Kasparek commented: \u201cWe all know the difficulties the cultural sector was faced with during the lockdown. On the other hand, it also gave me and many other artists some extra time since most releases had to be postponed. I used that time to fine-tune every little detail of my new material. The result is an album that in my opinion is probably the best in Running Wild\u2019s career to date. Every one of the ten songs sounds exactly as I had it in mind when I composed it. I\u2019ve never been happier with a Running Wild record before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kasparek described the effort as the group\u2019s most diverse release to date. \u201cEvery song has its own unmistakable sound,\u201d he explained. \u201cAlthough I recorded the rhythm guitar parts with my 1976 Gibson Explorer as usual, the other parts were cut with a Gibson Flying V, a Fender Stratocaster and even \u2013 the undistorted parts \u2013 with a Fender American Standard Telecaster.\u201d A clean guitar performance can be heard on the track \u2018One Night, One Day\u2019. \u201cFor me, this track was a little experiment that I\u2019ve never dared to try before, because \u2018One Night, One Day\u2019 doesn\u2019t have the typical intro-verse-chorus structure, instead gradually building up throughout the song,\u201d Kasparek said.<\/p>\n

Closing track \u2018The Iron Times (1618 – 1648)\u2019 delves into the Thirty Years\u2019 War, while the songs \u2018Wings Of Fire\u2019 and \u2018Say Your Prayers\u2019 are about prophecies, albeit not \u2013 as on many other releases \u2013 the prophecies of Nostradamus, but \u2013 among others \u2013 the prophecies of John of Jerusalem, the French Knight Templar and co-founder of the Order of the Knights Templar, who predicted organ trafficking back in the Middle Ages. \u2018Crossing The Blades\u2019, meanwhile sees Running Wild broach the story of the three musketeers from the 17th century.<\/p>\n

Cover artwork duties fell to Jens Reinhold. \u201cIt\u2019s a kind of hybrid between the cross of the musketeers and our mascot, Adrian,\u201d Kasparek viewed.<\/p>\n
