SODOM Issue Official Lyric Video For Title Track Of \u2018Bombenhagel\u2019 EP<\/strong><\/span>

Gelsenkirchen, Germany-based thrash metal band Sodom have released an official lyric video for the title track of thier latest EP Bombenhagel<\/em>. Created by Ingo Sp\u00f6rl (Hard Media), the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

\u2018Bombenhagel\u2019 is a new rendition of the song that first appeared on the band\u2019s second full-length studio album Persecution Mania<\/em> (1987). Speaking about the new version, frontman Tom Angelripper said: \u201cI wanted a recording of our old classic by the new line-up. Of course that was really special with a drummer such as Toni [Merkel] and two stringsmen. This new arrangement of our anthem definitely holds a few surprises in store.\u201d <\/p>\n

The track features a guitar solo courtesy of Harris Johns, who as a producer also guested on the Persecution Mania<\/em> version of \u2018Bombenhagel\u2019: \u201cHarris practically insisted on contributing a special kind of solo, in line with his outstanding skill. Naturally, that\u2019s been a real pleasure for us because we\u2019re all aware of what he has done for us. Without Harris, Sodom wouldn\u2019t be where we are today.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sodom issued three-song EP Bombenhagel<\/em> on August 20th, 2021 via SPV \/ Steamhammer.<\/p>\n

Tom Angelripper commented: \u201cOriginally we had planned to bring out the record in time for this year\u2019s summer festival season, including a sticker with all confirmed tour dates. Of course, the way it looks at the moment, all festivals will be postponed until 2022. But the EP will be released anyway, as a sign of life. As a signal to our fans: We\u2019re still around! The story continues.\u201d<\/p>\n
