FRACTAL UNIVERSE Premiere \u2018Interfering Spherical Scenes\u2019 Music Video<\/strong><\/span>

Nancy, France-based progressive death metal band Fractal Universe have filmed a music video for the track \u2018Interfering Spherical Scenes\u2019. Directed by Anthony Dubois, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Fractal Universe issued third full-length studio album The Impassable Horizon<\/em> on June 25th, 2021 through Metal Blade Records.<\/p>\n

The album can be streamed in its entirety via YouTube below.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to keep developing our musical personality and the natural sound we managed to get on Rhizomes<\/em>,\u201d said drummer Cl\u00e9ment Denys. \u201cIt\u2019s a very versatile and complex album. Musically speaking, you will find catchy songs which are really direct, progressive and mysterious ballads with epic saxophone solos, and technical songs with intricate riffing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite the record being even more diverse, dynamic and including more clean vocals than its predecessor, the overall atmosphere is also slightly darker and more melancholic,\u201d elaborated frontman Vince Wilquin.<\/p>\n

With the first riffs and ideas for The Impassable Horizon<\/em> emerging in November 2018, composition for the whole record took about a year, with the last six months before entering the studio in May of 2020 dedicated to vocal pre-production \/ arrangements and finalizing the guitar and saxophone solos. <\/p>\n

Drums were recorded at the band\u2019s own professional recording studio – Boundless Production Studio – in Florange, France, while the other instruments were tracked in their personal home studios. Said sessions were overseen by producer Flavien Morel.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sessions were good,\u201d said Denys. \u201cWe were not in a rush. This was the first record we entirely tracked in our own studios, so we were for example able to spend two complete days on sound-checking the drums, which was really comfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tracking of the vocals took as long to record as all of the other instrumentation combined. \u201cFlavien really encouraged me to bring the vocal production to the next level: there are chorus sections where there are about 30 tracks of backing vocals, with every line quad-tracked, to make it sound really massive and \u2018chorus-y\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels like the natural evolution of our band sound, keeping our distinctive trademarks and incorporating new sounds and ideas,\u201d concluded Wilquin.<\/p>\n

Denys added: \u201cWe hope the new album will reach new fans and please our current ones, which have been amazingly supportive even during the pandemic, and that it will bring the band to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Second studio record Rhizomes Of Insanity<\/em> was released<\/a> in April 2019 via Metal Blade.<\/p>\n
