AT THE GATES Release New Animated Music Video For \u2018Garden Of Cyrus\u2019 Track<\/strong><\/span>

Gothenburg, Sweden-based melodic death metal band At The Gates have released an animated music video for the track \u2018Garden Of Cyrus\u2019. Created by Costin Chioreanu (Twilight 13 Media), the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the song and video, frontman Tomas Lindberg Redant said: \u201cFor our latest video, ‘Garden Of Cyrus’, we have once again chosen to work with our long-time partner Costin Chioreanu. And I think it is safe to say that this time he has truly outdone himself! It is a different song, at least in death metal terms, and of course it needed a different idea for the video. Once again, we let Costin do his own interpretation of the music and the lyrics, and he has taken us on a real psychedelican journey with this one.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think this is the song on our latest album, The Nightmare Of Being<\/em>, that raised the most eyebrows in the metal community. And I am proud that we as a band can still surprise people, adding another dimension to our sound, without losing the essence of what At The Gates is. Enjoy!\u201d<\/p>\n

At The Gates issued seventh full-length studio album The Nightmare Of Being<\/em> on July 2nd, 2021 through Century Media Records.<\/p>\n

Tomas Lindberg Redant commented: \u201cThe overall theme deals with the topic of pessimism, and I have been diving deep down in pessimistic philosophers. Trying to understand this way of looking at the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not a negative album, more a gateway into new ideas for me personally, trying out different perspectives. You could call the album an introduction to pessimism as a concept, I guess. It is a very dark album, but not negative. It still sounds like At The Gates, 100 percent. It is just more of everything…\u201d<\/p>\n

While main parts for The Nightmare Of Being<\/em> were recorded in several different Swedish studios – drums at Studio Gr\u00f6ndal with Jens Bogren, guitars and bass with Andy La Rocque at Sonic Train Studio, and vocals at Welfare Sounds with Per St\u00e5lberg – the album was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in \u00d6rebro, Sweden.<\/p>\n

Sixth studio record To Drink From The Night Itself<\/em><\/a> was released<\/a> in May 2018 via Century Media.<\/p>\n
