ARTILLERY Launch Music Video For \u2018In Your Mind\u2019 Track<\/strong><\/span>

Danish thrash metal band Artillery have filmed a music video for the track \u2018In Your Mind\u2019. Produced by Morten Madsen (Popshitfilm), the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Artillery issued tenth full-length studio album X<\/em> on May 7th, 2021 through Metal Blade Records.<\/p>\n

The outing can be streamed in its entirety via YouTube below.<\/p>\n

Regarding the new album, guitarist Michael St\u00fctzer stated: \u201cWe wanted to have the typical Artillery trademarks, like the riffs and hook lines in the usual combination together with aggression and melody. We always try to combine melodic thrash metal with elements from the heavy sounds of the 70s and the 80s, and this time with new elements in some of the songs. We don\u2019t have to push ourselves hard when we\u2019re writing a record because we love what we\u2019re doing.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels great and awesome to have been going for nearly 40 years. I\u2019m so glad, and I am so lucky that I can do what I love the most, making albums and touring for our awesome fans. If anyone had told me 40 years ago that I would have made ten albums and played in over 60 different countries, I wouldn\u2019t have believed it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sadly, guitarist – and Michael\u2019s brother – Morten St\u00fctzer passed away on October 2nd, 2019 at the age of 52, which understandably affected the band. Having played a big part in shaping Artillery\u2019s songs and appearing on every album up to and including 2018\u2019s The Face Of Fear<\/em>, his loss is a real blow. \u201cIt was tough, even if he did not play live with us since 2016, he was always supporting us,\u201d said Michael. \u201cMorten was a unique musician and writer and a very humorous guy, and following his death was the first time ever I thought about stopping playing music. But, he always said that I had to go on with Artillery and continue playing if he was not there anymore. He will be missed so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

X<\/em> was tracked in Medley Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark with producer S\u00f8ren Andersen, who the band have worked with on every record since 2009\u2019s When Death Comes<\/em>. As well as his production work, Andersen contributed some keyboards to the track \u2018The Ghost Of Me\u2019, as well as adding some effects to a few other songs.<\/p>\n

Album cover artwork was once again created by Martin Helgren.<\/p>\n
