ADRIAN SMITH And RICHIE KOTZEN Unveil New Music Video For \u2018Solar Fire\u2019 Track<\/strong><\/span>

\nSmith \/ Kotzen, a rock collaboration between Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith and former Mr. Big \/ Poison guitarist Richie Kotzen (also frontman of The Winery Dogs), have filmed a music video for the track \u2018Solar Fire\u2019, which can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Smith \/ Kotzen issued their self-titled debut full-length studio album on March 26th, 2021 through BMG.<\/p>\n

The album was recorded on the Turks & Caicos Islands in February 2020, with production from Smith and Kotzen. Mixing was handled by Kevin Shirley. <\/p>\n

All songs were co-written by the duo, who additionally share lead vocals as well as trading off with respect to guitar and bass duties throughout the effort.<\/p>\n

Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain performs on the track \u2018Solar Fire\u2019, while Tal Bergman – a touring partner and longstanding friend of Kotzen – plays drums on the songs \u2018You Don\u2019t Know Me\u2019, \u2018I Wanna Stay\u2019 and \u2018\u2018Til Tomorrow\u2019. For the other five tracks, Kotzen stepped behind the drum kit.<\/p>\n

Adrian Smith commented: \u201cRichie and I started working together a couple of years ago. We\u2019d been jamming as we\u2019d been friends for a few years before that. We both share a love for classic rock and bluesy rock, so we decided to get together and start writing some songs and it went from there.<\/p>\n

\u201cPretty much everything on the album is handled between Richie and myself, including the production. We had developed a really strong idea of how we wanted it to sound, and I\u2019m very pleased with how it turned out. There\u2019s a lot of cool songs on there that we are really happy with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richie Kotzen added: \u201cWe had a very fluid process in writing. Sometimes Adrian would send me a riff and I would immediately hear some kind of melody or a vocal idea. And sometimes it was the other way round, so it was a kind of circular motion.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d get together whenever we could and throw some ideas around and it just evolved, which was great because there was no pressure and nothing other than just a natural course and I think the record really speaks for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
