Dutch symphonic metal band Epica have filmed a music video for the track \u2018The Skeleton Key\u2019. Directed by Grupa 13, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the song, vocalist Simone Simons said: \u201cWelcome to the \u2018The Skeleton Key\u2019 multi-layered dreamworld. Don\u2019t forget to bring your Skeleton Key to unlock all the secrets within yourself! I hope this song will haunt you until we can see each other again.\u201d <\/p>\n

Epica issued eighth full-length studio album Omega<\/em> on February 26th, 2021 through Nuclear Blast Records.<\/p>\n

Guitarist \/ vocalist Mark Jansen commented: \u201cI am very proud of this album, as I am convinced we have written a very refreshing and well balanced album even after so many years of existence. Our strength is that we have many great songwriters in one band. We have managed to combine each other\u2019s strongest qualities and selected the best songs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a fruitful period of spending time together to work as one team on those tracks. I think this has made the biggest difference compared to our previous albums. Still using the advantages of comfortably sending files by the internet to each other, but combining that with coming physically together again to work on all the tracks. I think I have listened to Omega<\/em> about 50 times already and still can\u2019t get enough of it!\u201d<\/p>\n

Omega<\/em> was once again recorded with producer Joost van der Broek at Sandlane Recording Facilities in Rijen, Netherlands.<\/p>\n

Directed by Grupa 13, a music video was filmed for the track \u2018Abyss Of Time\u2019, as well as for for an acoustic version of the song. Meanwhile an official animated music video was created for the track \u2018Freedom – The Wolves Within\u2019 and a visualizer video issued for \u2018Rivers\u2019. In addition, a music video was released for \u2018Omegacoustic\u2019; an acoustic version of the title track. All five clips can also be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Seventh studio record The Holographic Principle<\/em> was released<\/a> in September 2016 via Nuclear Blast.<\/p>\n
