DRACONIAN Release Music Video For \u2018The Sethian\u2019 Track<\/strong><\/span>

S\u00e4ffle, Sweden-based gothic doom metal band Draconian have filmed a music video for the track \u2018The Sethian\u2019. Once again directed by Natalia Drepina, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the song, vocalist and lyricist Anders Jacobsson said: \u201cThe writing of \u2018The Sethian\u2019 started with Johan [Ericsson, guitar] being inspired by a Nordic folk song. As the song transpired it mutated into a range of different variables and a quite different for being a Draconian song. From bombastic and brutal, from doomy sadness to gothic soundscapes. The instrumentation and the vocal arrangements are poignant and commanding, something that marks \u2018The Sethian\u2019 as one – if not the most well-received song of our new album.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regarding the vision for the video, director Natalia Drepina added: \u201cEach of us is trapped in a gloomy and oppressive place, where lies bleeding and the dark side of our soul obscures our eyes with doubts and regrets. But at the same time we can create entire universes in our dreams. And this golden light flickers in the darkness like sparks of hope.\u201d<\/p>\n

Draconian issued seventh full-length studio album Under A Godless Veil<\/em> on October 30th, 2020 through Napalm Records.<\/p>\n

The band commented: \u201cTo Draconian, Under A Godless Veil<\/em> is by far the most diverse album they have created. Inspired by some of the music closest to Johan\u2019s heart; everything from traditional doom to scaled-down, Gothic rock-inspired pieces and more. Some will perhaps describe the songs as more refined and meditative. Some ambient elements have been added to the mix without overshadowing the traditional characteristics that are Draconian. <\/p>\n

\u201cResonating with the compositions, Anders\u2019 lyrical direction is ambiguous and a progression of the first two-three albums, yet more subtle while embracing the Gnostic philosophy more directly. One could say Under A Godless Veil<\/em> is an act of contemplation; About living and dying and remembering who we are in a strange, abrasive world far from home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sixth studio record Sovran<\/em> was released<\/a> in October 2015 via Napalm.<\/p>\n
