Milan, Italy-based groove \/ thrash metal band Extrema have released an official lyric video for their cover of Judas Priest\u2019s \u2018The Ripper\u2019. Created by Tiziano Spigno, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

The original version of \u2018The Ripper\u2019 appeared on Judas Priest\u2019s March 1976 full-length studio album Sad Wings Of Destiny<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Extrema\u2019s rendition of \u2018The Ripper\u2019 was released as a digital single on April 29th, 2020 and is available on all digital outlets, with all profits from downloads and streams being donated to Italian Covid-19 relief.<\/p>\n

Founding member and guitarist Tommy Massara commented: \u201cOur cover of \u2018The Ripper\u2019 was originally conceived as a bonus track of Headbanging Forever<\/em> for the Japanese market. As we did not find the sought license in Japan, the song was closed in a drawer. To me Coronavirus is like Jack the Knife hitting you from behind, so I felt the need to release the song as a digital single. All the royalty\u2019s proceeds will be donated to the Italian Civil Protection. I discussed about it with Gabri [bass], Frullo [drums] and Tiziano [vocals], and they accepted enthusiastically. I hope you enjoy our version of this timeless Judas Priest classic hit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vocalist Tiziano \u201cTitian\u201d Spigno added: \u201cThis emergency, which arrived in the midst of our Italian tour, caught everyone unprepared. During these times music, books, movies, and art in general, although so badly affected, in many cases are a refuge for those people isolated at home, managing to get a few moments of serenity. Extrema want to contribute with this cover, recorded during the recording session of Headbanging Forever<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n
