AFTERMATH Release Music Video For Cover Of JOHN LENNON\u2019s \u2018Give Peace A Chance\u2019<\/strong><\/span>

Chicago, Illinois-based technical progressive thrash metal band Aftermath have released a music video for their re-imagined version of the John Lennon anti-war song \u2018Give Peace A Chance\u2019. Directed by Steven Nathan, the clip can be viewed below.<\/p>\n

The original version of \u2018Give Peace A Chance\u2019 was recorded by John Lennon and Yoko Ono and released under the Plastic Ono Band moniker in July 1969.<\/p>\n

Frontman Kyriakos \u201cCharlie\u201d Tsiolis commented: \u201cJohn Lennon\u2019s urgent call for peace in \u2018Give Peace A Chance\u2019 is more important today than ever, and our call for peace with this cover is the perfect message to follow up our previous album. We released a dark concept album with a bleak message and felt it was important to follow that up with something positive.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe visuals in the video are as important as the lyrics in a way. We live in a visual world today and this video needed to get out the message of HOPE. Having a young girl be the focus of the video was our way of getting that across. Seeing only positive acts when she puts on Lennon\u2019s famous glasses was the perfect visual metaphor. Lennon\u2019s message is transmitted not only through his lyrics but also through the perspective created by his unique lenses\u201d<\/p>\n

Aftermath\u2019s rendition of \u2018Give Peace A Chance\u2019 was released as a digital single on February 28th, 2020 and can be purchased here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
