Stockholm, Sweden-based doom metal band Candlemass issued six-song EP The Pendulum<\/em> on March 27th, 2020 through Napalm Records. The EP will be made available in various formats and can be pre-ordered here<\/a><\/p>\n

The Pendulum<\/em> is comprised of unused tracks cut from the recording sessions for the band\u2019s 2019 album The Door To Doom<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Edling commented: \u201c\u2018The Pendulum\u2019 is about hard riffing, epic choruses and total delusion the fanatical way. It is, in fact, the last thing I wrote for The Door To Doom<\/em> album but didn\u2019t have the time to finish it. Here it is in its grand\/mad luster with a great mix by Niklas Flyckt, and produced by Marcus Jidell. It is followed by five unreleased demos from ‘The Door To Doom’ sessions because the whole sha-bang was at first supposed to be a double effort but got trimmed down to a single album eventually.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love \u2018The Pendulum\u2019 track – album quality if you ask me, and songs like \u2018Porcelain Skull\u2019 and \u2018Snakes Of Goliath\u2019 are not bad either. They just didn\u2019t make it to the final thing. So I hope you like this EP that features the ‘missing\u2019 songs. The last pieces of the puzzle of the one-year recording that became the album The Door To Doom<\/em>. Enjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bassist Leif Edling stated: \u201cI think the video really captures the schizophrenic lyrics to the \u2018Porcelain Skull\u2019 song. It is about the eternal battle with our dark selves, Avatarium did a fine version of it on their latest album but this one is rawer and harder, hits you right in the face!\u201d<\/p>\n
